Origin: GR [a formation built with Greek elements]X [probably]
Etymology: Intensive reduplicated formation to χύδην (on the dissimilated vowel Schwyzer 647). As backformation κοχύ πολύ, πλῆρες H., κόχος `mighty stream' (sch. Theoc. ad loc.); so these latter words are learned contructions to explain the unclear forms? Reduplication from an adv. seems very strange in Greek.
